I’m looking for a photo printing service in Los Angeles where I can send my customers..?
to get prints of the photos I take of them. What is a good place in the North Hollywood/Burbank area to send my customers? Also how exactly does this arrangement work so that I retain copyright of the photos I take?

As for your copyright issue, you need to talk to the owners explaining that you will give them business but need to retain the copyrights of anything sent his way via your company.
What we do, is make the customer sign a document stating that we retain the rights to any photos taken and cannot be wavered unless written permission is given by us.
