How To Design A Striking Movie Poster
What is currently on the billboards? This holiday season, it is most likely that more films would be about the spirit of Christmas and the joy that this special season brings to people. Hence, more movies would most likely be those that would attract little kids and children-at-heart.
A Christmas Carol would be a good way to start with the box-office hits. Garnering millions with its opening, it is considered to be a top-grosser for this season. It’s a best seller indeed!
Oh! And there is the Twilight Saga – New Moon. It has garnered a lot of popularity not only in the US but all over the world.
So do you wonder how these films got to be so popular? In addition to the fact that they have teasers in every movie theater, TV programs, radio, and even in the Internet to promote the film.
Making these films and selling them is really big business indeed. As a business then, movies have to be a hit in order to get the returns from the producers’ investments. Hence, the industry has to stick to what works all the time to make a profit – a good story line, bankable actors, and a great promotional campaign. These are the things that a producer of the film needs to have in order to make money. A great advertising campaign is necessary to let the people know what is on, the film dates, and what can be a good movie to see this holiday season. No matter how bankable or great your story line, if you do not have good advertising, then your venture would not get the exposure it needs.
So what can you have that would make for an effective advertising campaign? Poster printing, that is what. By having large posters, as well as ubiquitous ones, you can make sure that your movie gets noticed and anticipated by the public.
For a well-designed movie poster, here are suggestions on how you can maximize your poster printing so you get the public excited:
Focus on the story line. This is especially true if you are promoting a not-so popular film. If it is a best seller, you would not have any problems marketing the story line. But for unknown stories, you need to provide your target audience with something to whet their appetite. Your posters then should focus on the gist of the movie. You must be able to capture the entire story and make it appear on the surface of your print poster. Your design and images should be able to say a thousand words so your target audience would be able to get the story from your posters.
Emphasize the actors. Especially if they are very popular. By merely mentioning their names, you’ll surely get people interested in your ad.
Be innovative with your design. Utilize not only the pictures but also your fonts in your poster printing. Your fonts have personalities and they can add flavor to your print poster so you can grab the attention of your target audience.
These are just a few suggestions you can apply when designing your print posters. But remember one thing: a good advertising campaign such as your poster can make for a bankable movie every time.
