Exeter Vacations
When the majority of folk consider having a vacation in England they mostly only consider resorts by the sea such as Blackpool, Skegness, Southport and Bognor Regis. Sometimes families may think about taking a vacation in a specific English county such as the county of Devon in the south of England but rarely do they consider taking a vacation in the city of Exeter. The following article discusses various reasons why an Exeter vacation is a cool idea.
Probably one of the most important reasons for having a weekend city break in Exeter is that the accommodation is reasonably priced with Exeter bed and breakfast accommodation available from about twenty five pounds per night and plenty of places around the forty to fifty pounds mark.
Of course you will need more than a minimal price to attract you to stay in a city and Exeter certainly has plenty to offer the potential tourist. You will discover that there are numerous first class tourist attractions in the city center and even more not too far away and if this isn’t enough then Plymouth is only a short distance away and you will discover that there is also cheap accommodation in Plymouth and even more incredible tourist attractions. Plus there are plenty of astounding places to see along the nearby coast.
Where To Stay In Exeter
The Drewe Arms
This hotel is excellent, it’s rooms are reasonably priced but the actual building is a charming 17th century thatched inn situated on the famous Two Moors Way (a walkers route). Please take notice that it is about fifteen miles from the city center. If you need more luxury the inn also features four-poster rooms.
The Crawford Hotel
This hotel accommodation is much closer to Exeter’s city center, approximately 1.6 km. It is a two star hotel with good en suite rooms and, crucially, twenty four hour access to your room, superb if you are going to be having a late night or you need access during the day. If required there is Free wireless internet access in the public places of the hotel.
Tourist Attractions
In Exeter there are only a few of places worth visiting including; the Royal Albert Museum, St Peter’s Cathedral and Rougemont Castle. As I mentioned earlier in this article there is a small selection of nearby seaside resorts to see the finest being the old-fashioned villages of Seaton, Sidmouth and Beer.
Further away, in between Plymouth and Exeter is the hardly populated moorland of the Dartmoor National Park with the general area having a fair few visitor attractions worth a visit including Buckland Abbey, Buckfast Abbey and A La Ronde along the main road, to Plymouth. Along the way you will pass by the Torbay area, which is made up of Brixham, Paignton and Torquay and is commonly referred to as the English Riviera region.
Exeter really is a brilliant place in which to stay however why not discuss having a twin destination vacation and spend a couple of days and nights in a nice hotel in Plymouth and tour the gorgeous coastline in between these 2 vacation destinations?
