From how far away can the Empire State building be seen?
If one were to be standing on the ground, what would be the maximum distance you could still see the Empire State building?

Therefore, maximum distance that a 6 ft person can see the top of the Empire State Building is ~50 miles on a round Earth with radius 6378.14 km (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth).
If you’re asking far can someone see an object that big, visual acuity is about 1 minute of arc, so the building will appear as a visible dot at about 946 miles.
