Glamour Images With Shallow Depth Of Field
Depth of field is one of photographys pure basic, and having harnessed its full potential you will be able to create visually impeccable, artistic and truly delivering captions. Manipulating the aperture is especially useful for resolving tricky compositional riddles that require focusing on some of the most appealing areas of the shot, making all the negative details to blur, thus removing any unnecessary visual flaws or simplifying the composition.
The technique of shallow depth of field is very useful when you are shooting on location, say a glamorous bikini shot on a beach, where you have lot of disturbances like the people at the beach or the ocean that may not be required on the image. In this instance, you have no control over what is in the scene, so you can use shallow depth of field to eliminate the cluttered background to create a glamorous image that has the model in sharp focus as compared to the background that is out of focus which, in fact, gives a very dramatic effect.
Not only whole shooting on location with a lot of background disturbances, you can apply the shallow depth of field technique even while shooting Glamour Pictures in studios. When you widen the aperture and choose the right shutter speed, you can easily give an ethereal and dramatic touch to the background, leaving the main object sharp and intact. The unfocused background can essentially alter the mood of your glamour image, especially if you take care of the color contrast with the main subject.
We have also seen quite a number of glamour images boasting not only a background out of focus, but also blurred areas on the foreground and the main subject. For example, there are some glamour images by famous photographers in which there is a sharp focus on the eyes and a specific part of the face while the sexy garment she is wearing, say for example, the bra is out of focus. Beauty Photography of that kind often seem to possess an extra dramatic or sensual touch to them. We notice her charming features and eyes, just as her sexy garment. Yet when the gaze drifts towards her bra or any other exciting element of clothing, it meets a gentle blur that only evokes further curiosity. Making the most from shallow depth of field, photographers can tickle the thinnest fibers of their viewers’ minds, encouraging interest and curiosity towards glamour images.
