Goal Line Art Cards
If you were in this situation, how would you deal with this teacher?
Hi, I’m in 8th grade and currently having a lot of trouble with my art teacher. My goal is to get straight A’s, and right now I’m right on track…except for art. I do everything that I am supposed to do, always offer to do more, help out by cleaning and staying after class…but I still do not have ANY grades for the quarter (we can view our current grades online). She’s the kind of teacher who always seems out of it and unaware. Last Thursday, I politely asked her when she was going to update our grades so we knew what to expect. She told me it would be done over the weekend… and unless she prefers to enter grades late at night, it’s not going to happen. Report cards come out Thursday, so I would like to know my grade by Tuesday so I can talk to her about it if I don’t feel it’s what I deserve.
Bottom Line: How do I be aggressive with getting her to give me a grade without coming off as rude and staying as respectful as possible?

If you have already confronted her and it hasn’t been done since then, I would go higher up. Like talk to the principal, or assistant principal. She technically can’t wait until the semesterr ends. Its part of that whole “nobody gets left behind” stuff. Waiting till the last minute to put grades in will put some students in a hole that they won’t have time to get out of.
