History help! Need by June, 26th of 2011!?

I need to write a paragraph or two about all or some of these questions:

1. Describe the evolution of American government in the decade after the achievement of independence.

2. Describe the class structure of pre-revolutionary French society.

3. What event led to Napoleon’s downfall?

4. Compare and contrast a single character from George Orwell’s book, Animal Farm, with its political counterpart from the Russian Revolution.
e.x. Napoleon – Stalin; Old Major – Karl Marx; Snowball – Leon Trotsky

5. What were the reasons for the extensive loss of life and property damage in WWI?

6. Why was D-Day such an important historic event?

7. How did WWII affect civilians around the world?

One to two paragraphs on each is easily achieved in the two months given/allowed:
1. Any general history of the United States by a recognized historian is all you need to find to begin your research.
2. Among others, you could start with volumes 10 and 11 of The Story of Civilization by Will (and Ariel) Durant. New York: Simon and Schuster.
3. Begin with (an equivalent of): The Napoleonic Wars Experience by Richard Holmes. London, England: An Imprint of the Carlton Publishing Group (originally published by Andre Deutsch): 2006
4. Read Orwell’s Animal Farm and then a brief history of the Russian Revolution in virtually any History of the Modern World (commencing in about 1900).
5. Use you History of the Modern World volume from previous question to begin your research. You may want to seek out some on-line help from government and military veterans’ organizations.
You could look for a copy relating some of the Great Battles of the world and/or specific to World War I.
6. Look for Great Battles of World War II by Chris Mann. New York: Parragon: 2010 – your general history book(s) on the Modern World may be all you need, however.
7. Again from your History of the Modern World volume, you can research the topic “The Cold War”.
