What are the chances of meeting racers at the Toyota Grand Prix Long Beach?

I might go to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 18. I was wondering if it’s possible to meet the drivers before the race or after it’s over?

IndyCar drivers are pretty accessible, especially during practice days as opposed to race days. Your best bet is to join Indy Downforce, an IndyCar fan club, which sponsors driver meet-n-greets and autograph sessions.

Otherwise, get a pit or paddock pass and hand in the garage areas during downtime and you have a good shot at meeting drivers. (As an aside, I was at an Indy 500 practice day a couple years ago and Tony Kanaan was at the fence outside his motorhome with his new son chatting it up with the fans. His baby had more hair than he did!)
