what are the tourist atractions in louisville, kentucky?
My family and I are planning to visit louisville, kentucky and I was wondering what are some of the popular tourist attractions there ?
There are a couple major places- forth street live is downtown, it has all of the major restaurants and stores to shop in one place- its closed to traffic at night. It has the hard rock cafe. One the west end down main street is the biggest attraction- Louisville Slugger museum- get a free bat with the tour- and its an awesome tour you walk right into the actual plant- no glass etc and around now should see the actual World Series bats being made. They also have the horse racing museum if your into that- go down 65 to Churchill Downs and take a tour and see the museum/burial area. Last- a lesser known place is supposed to be the worlds most haunted place- it was featured on Halloween all night, is wavery hills hospital. I def. would say take a tour- you can do that at night- its great. http://www.underworldtales.com/waverly.htm has some links for that.

Just outside of Louisville- if you have the time to drive is a great place called the Makers Mark Bourbon tour- they give free samples and its a great drive even if your under 21- you can even dip your own bottle-

Or if you want a bigger factory that makes bourbon but isnt as hands on- Jim Beam is close to Louisville as well.
Last- go down 65 to Mammoth Cave if your leaving the city, or take a tour of Fort Knox.
