Ibanez ORM1 Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Electric Guitar
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is famous for his high velocity guitar playing in bands like The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In and the ORM1 from Ibanez is a tribute to that guitar playing energy. The Ibanez ORM1 features a Jet King shaped mahogany body; a 24” scale mahogany neck with Ibanez ‘tulip’ headstock; a rosewood fretboard with block pearl inlays; Gibraltar III bridge with high-output ACH-BL mini-humbucker.
The ORM1 has a distinctly small mahogany body fashioned in the traditional Jet King shape. The smaller body of the ORM1 makes the guitar perfect for shorter guitar players or those who like to be on the move whilst playing. The ORM1 is an easy and comfortable guitar to play when you combine the small body with a user-friendly 24 inch scale neck. The shorter scale makes those impossible stretches reachable.
The ORM1 allows for a very low action if required and includes the outstanding full locking Gibraltar III bridge – both adding to the overall playability of the guitar. The Ibanez ORM features the high-outputing ACH-BL mini-humbucker pickup in the bridge position. This blade humbucking pickup is only the size of a single coil yet is a top performer for output. The ACH-BL has a ceramic magnet which makes the guitar perfect for that large amplified sound that The Mars Volta is famous for.
