Who doesn’t enjoy the sounds and sights of water in motion? Pond and water gardening is one adventure that many find very exciting. Even so, there are plenty of unknowns within this hobby that can frustrate the beginner and even those with years of experience. What to do, what to do?

When we are in need of help, sometimes we turn to our close relatives and loved ones to help us. Joining a local pond club can help guide you through some of the more difficult challenges that comes with building a pond or water garden. You can skip over a great deal of the very difficult and disheartening frustrations of building a pond by joining a pond lovers club. I’m sure when you think of the beauty of a pond, you’re not dreaming of the green gunkie goop that comes from a poorly designed and maintained pond.

Even if your local area doesn’t offer a pond club within driving distance, you can certainly find an online club to join, as they are plentiful.

Can find a local place to meet? No worries, there are hundreds and even thousands of membership you can join online. You’ll find people posting all types of questions and sharing their experiences both good and bad both online and offline. Both online and offline memberships offer a great deal of advantages to your new pond building adventure.

Once you start participating, even if it’s simply from a listening point of view, you will begin to see just how varied a pond garden can be. There are ponds with fish, ponds without fish, ponds with lots of water lilies and ponds without them. Some people enjoy ponds with just koi and goldfish while others like to have turtles and frogs. There are ponds with and without waterfalls as well as rock and pebble ponds. Oh my goodness, there are big and little, wide and deep, tall and skinny, small and um… cheap? When it comes to ponds, the door to your own creativity is wide open. With that being said, the door to frustration can be just as easy to step into.

When I began looking at the world of ponds I had no idea that this hobby is so great people even provide pond tours! They even charge an admission fee to help cover the costs of maintaining some of the more spectacular creations. Pond lovers advertise these tours on billboards, T-shirts and even on TV and radio. People place ads in the newspaper, TV, radio and in garden centers. Ponds can be small but that hobby is worldwide and members are quite enthusiastic over their ponds.

Wrapping up this little pond club tour of sorts I have to say that one of the best decisions you will make is that of joining a pond lovers club. You won’t regret it, that’s for sure.. When you’re a member of a pond club, you’ll find that you can even trade for needed items, even fish, frogs and guppies!

If you’re thinking about building a pond, make sure you jump on in and join a koi pond club first. As with any club membership, you’ll find lifelong friendships with other people who enjoy this wonderful hobby.
