Expo 2010 in Shanghai: Rhone-Alps Region participates in the Universal Event
Rhone-Alps region will be present at the Universal Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China to celebrate « Better Life, Better City ». Expo visitors have already exceeded 57 millions as the expo is a real success.
Big celebrations will include original and thematic events by many countries who wish to show their culture by developing the theme of the expo 2010 with folkway series, the festive series, the Youthful Expo series and community series. Multi-cultural pavilions will highlight different aspects of the many countries participating in the expo.
A very innovative light show will take place in Rhone-Alpes pavilion as Lyon has implemented a lighting plan for the whole city in order to highlight the artistic features of historic architecture, urban landscapes and public spaces. The exhibit will show an artistic night landscape to think about urban lighting’s impact on our city life.
Eight local art creators will participate in the final event on 23 and 24 October. Max Chaoul, Sophie Guyot, Nicolas Fafiotte, Françoise Hoffmann, Laurence Opperman,Elsa Somano, designers Rémi Bouhaniche and Amaury Poudray will exhibit their luxury art works like luxury wedding dresses, high-quality silk accessories, contemporary jewlery, designed bags and accessories in plastic, lighting objets…
