Sipping a cup of rose tea, made by steeping the dried petals in just-boiled water for 15 minutes, just before bedtime, results in sound sleep.
Rose petal tea stimulates blood circulation and is good for complexion. Good for regulating menstruation. Roses seem to have a decongestant effect, especially on females who have painful and irregular periods. It relieves tightness in the chest, has calming effect on the nerves and helps in depression. When made into enzymes, it helps improve appetite and alleviates headaches.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, the rose is sweet in nature with a slightly bitter taste and has a warm energy, affecting the liver and spleen. It is able to regulate the Qi or life energy in our bodies. Chinese physicians normally prescribes it as a herb that calms the mind and spirit.
